The true to life story of a man depicted in the video presents a most inspiring profile of courage. More importantly, love for God even genuine faith in Him. The man who wrote it, his story and the song could very well be handles for encouragement for those who are currently experiencing difficulties in life where it is as if there is no end to such sufferings in sight. God is honored when we give thanks to Him for the gifts/blessings that we receive from Him. But God is more honored when even in the midst of great difficulties, we are still able to say even sing, "It is well with my soul". For then, in faith, we have surrendered our fate to Him who continues to work His perfect will for us spelled out in Romans 8:28-29. He uses our trials and temptations to bring about such good, acceptable and perfect will even to perfect our faith. It takes more patience and faith to bless God in times of great difficulties than in times of blessings as such attitude is not normal to us; thus, the former honors God more than the latter situation of much blessings in life. May I encourage you therefore to have the attitude of Horatio Spafford to God in your times of trials for such gives glory to God whose best interest is our best interest here on earth and the life to come - in heaven.
