During a Washington Kastles practice Victoria Azarenka, Rennae Stubbs, Bobby Reynolds, and Angela Haynes played "two up, two back" which is a great doubles drill.

"Two up, two back" is an awesome way to practice two very common situations in doubles. First, when you and your partner are up at net. And second, when you're both back at the baseline. This video will show you exactly how it's done.

  • hey fyb,

i see a lot of people telling you that they prefer normal speed videos, but i really want to stress to you that your slow motion videos are extremely important and needed by people like me.

the most i've learnt about tennis is from your slow motion videos, not normal speed.

so please keep a major focus on slow-mo videos of players motions and movements and overall play.

    thanks guys!

  • @manimalfully hey, thanks, will do. we've got a lot more slow mo (and normal speed) video to get online. stay tuned! =)

  • i think the important thing to notice here is their footwork at net.... i know that i never bounce that much... but now i think i'll try to

  • @champ1193 Yep, nice observation!

  • why does this tennis court has 4 colours?

  • at first i was all like "SERENA USES HER LEFT HAND NOW?!" and then i read the description and was all like "ooooh thats angela!" haha her hair style is like the 2006 Serena. even the clothing too :P

  • for a moment i thought why is serena williams playing left handed? lol

  • haynes is clearly the weakest link , shes not moving her feet enough

  • @3n19ma i no, so annoying

  • God they're great

  • wt kind of court is that??

  • Hi Will - like this drill a lot - but played it before with a self start feed by the net playing side but from the base line (i.e. one player at the net, one at the baseline), followed with a cross court volley or half-volley by the feeder - this encourages them to quickly join their partner at the net. The baseliners still have to try to beat the 'wall'.

How do you think the drill could be expanded to get the baseliners to attack? If a lob forces the netplayers back could the baseliners attack?
