there is plenty of hate against tablature, but for many, being able to play the song is the priority. It is better to understand notation and position playing earlier rather than later, but please don't hate on the tool or the "tools" that use it (as you might have them)

I don't know what it is about learning how to read music that scares people.
Reading tabs takes effort too. After you learn it you won't be applying the technique to a piano or something else either.
Learning to read music can take you to any instrument, plus make you more proficient and able to play with others better in the long run.

TAB will not teach someone to play guitar.. it's the easy way for the uninitiated who can't or won't use their ears. I've saw someone on youtube ask for tab on a 3 chord progression that could be instantly figured out by watching the video .. ! lol

I learned to sight read quickly, and it isn't as hard as everyone thinks. I wish TAB didn't exist.
