traditional. one of the earliest known American Industrial songs: a familiar tale of a common worker downtrodden by unrelenting capitalism, the song has appeared in several recordings, notably, Pete Seeger's 1957 Folkways LP, 'American Industrial Ballads'.
this recording was done at home in the studio, March 2011. The painting on the left depicts Jesus on the white horse of the Book of Revelation and that on the right is an image of Rebekah at the well.
I used a Collings concert ukulele.
