Excellent share! Chomsky really nails it here. Those that are blinded by hatred of "government" or fall for the false equivalence logical fallacy that claims "both sides are equally to blame" are ultimately supporting the villains and hamstringing reformers.

Chomsky's mantra seems to be "corporations bad, government good." Neither it good nor bad by themselves, but the collusion between corporations and government is what is bad. Corporations can persuade you go by goods and services but they can't make you do anything at all unless they can persuade government to mandated it or to reward and punish by means of the tax code and regulations.

what you said is only true for a small group of banking corporations. to say that the Fed is the sole instrument that "allows corporations to do what they want" is very misleading. how would an arms corporation like Halliburton use the Fed to "get what they want"? they can't. instead they fund politicians that they control, wether its in the Pentagon, Congress, or wherever
