there's a shitstorm approaching disturbing good music...

Ricci was " better " than Stern and Menuhin combined? What is that supposed to mean? First of all, in his prime, Menuhin was as good as any violinist could posibbly hope or dream. And in his primie Ricci while technically excellent, he was no in no way "better" !

La démarche de l'orchestre, bien que rapide, est parfois lourde!

@purbanegoro You are just a little bit clueless, and by a little I mean very.
-
@purbanegoro if you don't like Jews stay away from music. Far away.. LOL you moron.
-
@purbanegoro Antisémite sans doute?Quel dommage! Paganini était juif.Il ne faut plus écouter...
-
@DHcello I am not familiar with that.
However the recording of Milstein with Steinberg and the Pittsburgh is generally considered the "definitive" recording of this work, primarily, I think, because of Steinberg's handling of the orchestral part; he really does get it so right, much better than Munch or Toscanini.

Much, much better than the 1950s recording with Munch and the Boston.
While Toscanini can be rather terse and abrupt here, and least he attempts to COMMUNICATE something.
Heiftetz plays equally well on both recordings, of course.
Yiddish rubbish.
Ruggiero Ricci was better than Stern and Menuhin combined.
Salvatore Accardo is a Paganini specialist and technically, timbrally and bravuri far superior to Itzhak Perlman, Shlomo Milstein etc.
