I completely agree. If England means nothing but multiculturalism and complete openness to race, religion, culture, ethnicity, etc. than I might as well become a leftist.
Inclusive nationalism has no meaning. If a party that claims to represent the English denies the ethnicity of the English then it betrays the very people it claims to serve. Stop trying to appease other ethnicities - unless of course you really don't care that this nation is being murdered by the State.
Very well put, time to stop associating the English flag with the far right. Too long we've had to feel virtually ashamed of being English, and waving our country's flag has some people gasping in horror, this has to stop, we are English, be proud of it, wave the flag, we have nothing to be ashamed of. By the way, St. George's Day is on Monday, 23 April 2012. :)
When was the Cross of St George associated with the far right? BNP British nationalists. NF British nationalists.EngDems British Nationalists (Unionist).
The only people who associate the Cross of St George with the far right are the England haters of the British establishment and lefties.
The Cross of St George has never been associated with the far right - it's the people's flag. regardless
Power to the English people, the British Nationalists (not party) have tried to make you think that loving England and waving the stGeorges flag is somehow racist. The powerful political classes in England know that when England has its own parliament it`s one of the final nails in the coffin of the UK. We simply can`t afford to be a world player the way we have been. That game is over. We need to go our seperate ways and choose which direction we want to go and where we can cooperate repectfuly
So the first guy to speak admits he doesn't know what Englishness is ("trying to distinguish what is English.....whatever that is") and the implicit assumption is that if you do find out then you will be a racist. Which is why Steve then babbles on about an "inclusive" (one of the liberal left favourite propaganda words) Englishness as he can placate the guy he is talking to. Who, if Im not mistaken, is a leader in the Unite Against Fascism lot who are just as violent as any far right group.
@pulsengine I see your point although I consider my feeling for my home town as strong as yours but on the state level I agree with you But see some of the "South Shall Rise Again" sites and they'll let you know in no uncertain terms they want an end to the American empire and an independent South and in Texas there are many who want an independent Texas Although it's not my decision to make I would like to see the UK continue and where it is my decision I want the US to continue

We do not need an "inclusive English nationalism", we need a genuine English nationalism.
4 words:
England to the English!
If everyone else has a right to a nation-state, than so do the English.
