See my other videos for an explanation as to why I converted; this is the Dakota Digital Odyssey Series II tach and speedometer combined with AutoMeter Cobalt ancillary gauges (which will be getting a film covering to color match the main gauges). All in-gauge functions are retained - the bulb failure indicator light and rear defrost indicator light as well as the turn signals are integrated into the Dakota Digital units. This is a closeup to show the details of the gauges better.

No modifications to the actual wood/metal dashboard were required, everything was drop in save for the big gauges needing to be fitted into gutted Series III tachometers. Even the original "twist out" function for the big gauges is retained!

  • WHAT'S NAME OF THIS SONG????

  • @ARTMYN1988 It's Midnight Oil - Blue Sky Mine.

  • Pimp-Style violation of a classic car!!! The problem is, that guys like you have access to cars who were reserved for distinguished conaisseurs in earlier times... I doubt he has a spoilers too. Better drive Honda!

  • @sterzherzog Actually, I have the factory-approved TWR spoiler on the bootlid. And it's completely reversible. Of course, I notice you don't mention the idiots that swap in a Chevy engine....

  • Have you upgraded the engine, drivetrain, suspension or anything else performance-based?

  • Yes.

  • @TexasSpectre Tnx author) Your dashboard really cool made! With love from Russia!))

  • I like it, how much did that cost ya?

  • Hey there, this is a really nice conversion! Although I think it would have been nice in all white or just one color. A really nice "mix" of old and new. Good work! Is the engine and transmission You have upgraded the original engine and trans? How much did it cost to do this upgrade?

BTW, whats the name of the song playing?

  • nothing wrong with the Digital Instrument Cluster gauges overall.....however in certain cars (like this one) the Traditional Analog gauges look much better.

  • I am also a Herzog. You are jealous that you don't have a Jag. Love the digital. Don't hate. Appreciate Herzog. Minnesota herzog?

  • @sterzherzog no, the problem is, that people like you have access to the internet.

  • @TexasSpectre All of these other comments refer to it being a classic, but classic doesn't mean perfect by any means. Making the car perform better or more suited to your own personal style is not a violation of anything. I'd love to see more videos of or read a bit more about all the upgrades you've done to improve the performance.
