  • Hello again tbdalva!

I've just finished switching the caps and resistors. First i changed the caps, and when playing it afterwards, the sound was darker, warmer and simply better than before, with a little eralier breakup as well.

Then i changed the resistors (12k resist instead of 10 for the mids to get a little fattermidrange), and the sound now is ten times better than before :D Later i'll change some of the tubes, and maybe the speaker as well.

  • @FenderMeddle94 That's great!, I left the original speaker and found that the more I play it the better it gets.Another thing I did which is not included in the list, is remove the cathode bypass cap on the first gain stage, I have played a couple of gigs at my local pub and was very happy with the sound. Also my amps bias was set to hot and once I adjusted it it made a big difference.

  • why not just buy a vox AC 15?

  • Almost everyone has to tear the entire guts out of all their fender amps to get them running "better". Yet the amps to start with were reissues and also even "customshop" amps. I love the fender tone and ill get another one day, but i brought a mark five mesa boogie, and holly shit, when you look inside, its all allen bradley NOS carbon comps, and serious high quality trannies, the caps are absolute top shelf, and the list goes on and on and on. Its about the "what the &%(# is fender thinking?

  • @tbdalva nice, thanks for your help^^ think i'll make a video under the process, how it sounded before, and how it sounds after the mods is done

  • @FenderMeddle94 I like "Antique Electronic Supply" and "Mojo Musical Supply" plus my local electronics supply. These are common parts, if you can find a local vendor in your area you can save the shipping costs.

  • @tbdalva sure, will tell as soon as the mods is done^^ btw, where can i buy these different caps and resistors?

  • @FenderMeddle94 Again, take your time, PCs are very hard to fix if you break them and too much heat will burn them up.Let us know how it works out for you.
