In 2008 Plan Niger launched IMAGINE (Improve the EducAtion of Girls in NigEr) with the aim of getting more girls into schools and keeping them there. The program started by talking to the parents. Then classrooms were built along with, girls' toilets and housing for female teachers. In June 2012, Plan expanded upon IMAGINE, focusing on early education, community engagement and teacher training in 150 more schools.
