Compressed air at 250PSI is used to get this mighty engine turning over before switching on the fuel supply. Engine is beautifully restored and mounted on a huge trailer together with its ancilliaries (the noise you can hear in the background is a diesel-driven air compressor). I shudder to think how much effort it must take to transport and display this engine, not to mention expense. This clip was taken at the Ardingly Vintage Vehicle Show, July 2009, where the engine is a frequent visitor.
Saw it at the Bromley Pageant 2005, before which I had no interest in diesel whatsoever!
