Sky Bar's Chance

No, he ain't mine. I'm just training him until then end of September. :) He's a mustang (Hard to believe, huh?!) that we found in the corrals on...Wednesday? He walked right up to us--and even accepted treats!
Do you remember how in my last video I told you that the BLM owns a mustang for the first year after its adopted? Well, if the horse has yet to be titled, then the adopter can return it to the BLM if they feel the need. I'm pretty sure thats what happened to Sky Bar. The biggest reason? Mustangs don't have grain in the wild, and the BLM doesn't feed it at the corrals. The result? Mustangs don't know how to eat grain at first. And yet? This horse has no problems with scarfing down a pan of grain. :P

Anyway, a little more about Mr. Sky Bar's Chance, He's an eight year old Mustang gelding that was only just gelded in February, so he's got some bad mannerisms that need to go away-Like pinning his ears. He tends to pin his ears and stick in nose out when he gets tired of working, and seeing how much force he had when he went after my dog (Who he DOESN'T like) makes it kinda nerve wrecking. Thankfully lunging (Which he did NOT know how to do) him for awhile made that die down a bit. Made him realize that he's not the boss, I am. But all in all, he's a pretty good boy. He's about 14.3hh at the withers, but he's got some BIG withers, so he's probably closer to 14.2-14.1 AND 1/2hh. ;)

Behind the name:
I spent over 30 hours trying to name that horse. Then my dad give me an old candy bar that is... well... old (as in, its been around forever and the wrapper hasn't changed and all sorts of-Thats called vintage, huh? WELL THEN, IT WAS VINTAGE) And it was called a 'Sky Bar'. THE START OF A NAME! Haha, thats right, Skyby (Er... nickname...) is named after candy. :)

Because we have three horses and a lease horse coming, and thats all we can afford over winter. Plus, he's not really what I'm looking for-ANOTHER green horse. haha.

And sure! If ya wanna come to WA to adopt him! Haha, he'll be for adoption at the end of the month, and hopefully find a good home. :D
