Cheap, home-made, 'dodgy as' bowling ball spinner that works! Easy to make, where you only need a few items and basic tools.

  • 7.5/10 of the sketchy scale lol

  • @mlim23 i'd go for 9/10...

  • I made this last weekend. I was trying to save some money and it looked like a fun project. I followed the directions.

Everything was working perfectly until I pressed just a little too hard. The super glue couldn't hold my 15lb ball and my wifes mixing bowl any more. I could not have imagined how violent the following scenario could have been, but I had front row seating at this bowling-ball-gone-wild scene.

Sad thing is; I can't find my cat now...

  • @rafebeck the hazards of diy! i hope your cat has come back and isn't too traumatized

  • why do say at the end that this was made for under 80 bux. when it was probably made for under 15 bux

  • that is how much it cost to make in Australia, buying everything

  • @chickenpoper because the drill press was $70.00

  • @rafebeck lmao about the cat!!!!

  • I took a 1/2" bolt and cut off the hex head. The shoulder of the bolt (where the threads aren't cut all the way) fit just inside my Delta drill press' upper shaft. I used an epoxy to adhere the bolt into the shaft (with a wad of paper at the bottom, so the epoxy won't run down inside the shaft.)and let it set-up for an hour or so. The wife's mixing bowl isn't quite thick enough for the weight, and it'll start flexing, so I'm looking for a polycarbonate dog bowl. Thicker side walls...
