While this wasn't the last "Muppet Show" episode to air - in fact, it was the *first* episode of the fifth and final season - it was the last one to be produced.
I've always thought it was the perfect swan song for the show. And for Mr. Kelly, of course.

Gosh, I'm crying! It so sad that this legend isn't around any more.

I have this episode on DVD. (Along with Elton John and Julie Andrews) This was my favorite show growing up- even though I watched the reruns on Nickelodeon. (I grew up in the late 80's and early 90's)

@HHProductionsX not for another 16 years.

Last time he ever performed it...Made me cry. The slow dolly in when he first starts singing just gets me. The way he leaves the set with the song in the background is like he's leaving us.

@thetatorthetot first man to make me really swoon too! Age 15. Now 18. I'll be spreading him around my whole life.

Absolutely one of my favorite performers of old school Hollywood. Seems like he'd be one of the coolest guys ever.:)

El amor de mi vida, que lindo homenaje, me emociona verlo aún hoy, gracias a los Muppet
Even as an old guy, he sure does make me swoon! I am 16... and completely in love. What a wonderful, classy man. They sure don't make them like that anymore.

Darn ,it makes me cry -- such grace of spirit, refusing to try to hang on the the past. He doesn't pretend to be that old Kelly any more. I cried watching this on The Muppets the first time, as Sopontop says.
And so many greats from my past who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge.
On the third hand, there's one heck of a music hall on that other side!!
