Kenyans are only now getting to realize that academic qualifications and experience alone would not guarantee one a job in public service and, the security that comes with it. Issues of one's ethical and moral conduct are coming to the fore, the integrity bar has been raised, so to speak, with Wednesday's decision by the judges and magistrates vetting board to dismiss 4 appellate judges over ethical and professional misconduct proving once again the path being taken by the judiciary to restore public confidence in the critical institution, was indeed a painful one. But what does this mean to this country's leadership going forward? Evelyn Wambui spent the day at the University Of Nairobi with some of tomorrow's crop of leaders and, at a forum, discusses with them what this all means.
