The 2009 Munk Debates: "Be it resolved, foreign aid does more harm than good" (June 1, 2009).

Dambisa Moyo and Hernando De Soto argue in favour of the motion. Paul Collier and Stephen Lewis argue against the motion.

  • Private Capital doesn't go where it should????? I bet Lewis knows exactly where it should go.

  • his statement is not completely based on the the government bailouts...focus pleas...he mentions that briefly. His major statement is on property. He makes a strong argument, and it is something that has been overlooked, and as someone who supports Dambisa Moyo's percpective, he has brought new light to a matter that should be of utmost concern. FOOD

  • Yeah. If that's the argument of those liberals in favour of foreign aid, that's very poor. They defend foreign aid saying that it's burden on GDP is small relative to bailouts. But sensible people don't agree with bailouts!! So that argument is useless

  • I'm totally against the US federal bailouts of American businesses but it's our tax money Mr. Lewis. That has nothing to do with African AID. Holy crap! Global Warming, conspiracy theories - this dude is one very desperate Liberal extremist.
