The Internet is changing the way that books, movies, music and information are distributed world-wide. The model of a public library being the town's "intellectual" center is no longer valid. The Internet, and the products of Silicon Valley technology companies, has now unlocked Pandora's box—and all of the books ever published will one of these days be available for download from "the NET". The idea that large, expensive, Brick-and-Mortar builds are needed to hold books which the public are to read is over.
With the appearance of 1TB hard drives, and high capacity DVD discs, people can now download hundreds, thousands, tens-of-thousands, and even millions of e-books to create home libraries that have never been equaled by any but the Library of Congress—and most of these down-loadable books will be FREE!
