actualy hes playin a plectrum banjo here,not a tenor, so you could virtualy do the same with your 5 string, just depends on your tuning, plectrum players use the C tuning or top 4 strings of guitar tuning . forget about tenor banjo, its not as cool for harmony and chords or playing solo .

I'd go in the direction of playing a 22 fret Plectrum Banjo (not a Tenor Banjo), which is what I play. It is EXACTLY like 5 string so you just need to learn the chords and plectrum technique. Want some lessons??
