IMO, the best HDR shots are ones that you can't tell are HDR images. Because most "HDR" images you see on the net are WAAAAY overdone; it looks nothing like what we see with our eyes.
Your best ones in the video are the ones that barely changed. Several changed tremendously, when they didnt need to.

the HDR pictures look like Crysis in-game scenes on Very High.

You can download Photomatix as a free trial on the HDRsoft website. The trial is fully functional and doesn't expire but leaves a watermark on the saved images. If you want to buy it you can get 15% off with the coupon code: RoyaltyFreeStock. This is what I did and it worked fine.

Thanks Dom :0) Time and time again i see comments and attitudes (as some below) saying this is wrong, this is right.. Over done, under done etc etc. Come on folks, isn't photography ART??? Who makes rules when it comes to art? It's an expression of whatever you want to produce surely... For me i love the highly over dramatic scenes every bit as much if not more than standard HDR.. I think rules are out the window with art or free expression.. Beautiful work!! Thanks for all ya great tutorials.

i was never able to make some cool HDR like yours, i have photomatix, and i have made like in all Tutorials... Exp Comp(-2, 0, +2) and the pics never came like all that i see on-line, what's the secret?

Is it absolutely necessary to use a tripod when taking the multiple shots which form the final HDR image?

if your camera can shoot 6fps or faster then no, or if you do a psudo hdr (check my other video) then no again
