You are doing a nice job with your dog. I am a wheelchair user, mobility dog trainer and compete in AKC Obedience Trials. You really should only tell the dog to heel one. The dog should hold position without further commands.

Its great that your training a breed that isn't used often. I'm training a Siberian Husky as my next guide/service dog. I'm a blind quad.

I know Dobbies have a high prey drive, so how did you get her to not chase things? I have a collie mix who's very smart, but i haven't been able to stop her from chasing squirrels. It's the only annoying thing about her aside from her barking almost stop when a strange dog comes near. A lot of the male dogs around here aren't friendly, so she doesn't want them near me or the house.
