The book behind the documentary.
For true crime investigator Bryan Bruce the death of Jesus of Nazareth is the ultimate cold case. The two deceptively simple questions, Who killed Jesus ? And Why? serve as the starting point for his landmark re-examination of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the most famous person in history. His conclusion is that the Gospels' account of the arrest, trial and execution of Jesus is so flawed that the traditional Easter story in which the Jews set Jesus up to be executed by the Romans simply does not make any sense. He argues that it is based on a lie told in the first century by Christian writers and copyists trying to spin-doctor their new religion to appeal to the Romans. In the process they laundered the character of Pilate and darkened the character of the Jews. The terrible outcome of this lie takes us right to the gates of Auschwitz. This deeply researched book is a remarkable achievement, and an extraordinary contribution to the many-layered fascination with life and death of Jesus.
lol pretty weak argument from bruce, i dont think there is any problem with challenging the dominant paradigm but man do your study and research. Any half decent bible scholar would have him running with his tail between his legs

I find it quite disturbing that Christian folk despise anything to do with this type of open thinking, as they would much rather believe in a sadistic bully of a god that will condemn billions of people to a never ending tortuous hell .Man wouldn't even be here if god didn't create them in the first place,So much for free will when creation wasn't even our choice.

i think this Bryan guy didnt read the old testament ,silly silly. i know the bible is hard to understand sometimes but if he focused on what god wants to speak to him through what he reads then he wouldnt have come up with such a silly idea like da vinchi code for eg, human nature aye lol

@tgamerlegend Amen! I really should stop using the term "atheist," since God Himself doesn't believe in "atheists." :-) They are simply "unregenerates" in rebellion, who "suppress the truth in unrighteousness because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. " Rom 1:18-19 How? Rom 1:20 There was never a time in my life when I didn't understand this...all of Creation shouts His name! Ps 19:1-6

One more thing I wanted to say. He says paul doesn't mention events like the last supper or Judas. Well the simple answer is this he doesn't mention them because it was commonly known and already mentioned by the other disciples.

@Passiflora101 Yes I agree completely with everything you have said Passiflora let me add on to what you have said if I may. Like Passiflora said Jesus was not what the jews expected, the jews expected a messiah that would come and destroy the rome government with an iron rod and se them free and rule over Earth. Jesus is the messiah but he was not what the Jews thought the messiah was going to be even though the old testement messiah description matches Jesus perfectly.

Amen Passiflora101, Amen! God's word (The Holy Bible) confirms it all.
