A little documentation of the removal of our large, ant ridden, hollow Ailanthus tree (Tree of Heaven) by Gray Tree Service. Sad to see it go but it was in danger of breaking and possibly falling. While the tree crew was out to remove the Ailanthus, they spent some time pruning up the large Locust tree. Our Locust is one of the largest in the city. It was very entertaining to watch them work. Our yard is much sunnier now!

  • It was big. I think maybe 60 feet tall or so. The Locust is much bigger. I think the Locust has to be 90 or 100 feet tall. If anything happened to the Locust it would be very difficult for us.

  • that was quite a size of tree - and disturbingly hollow!

Shame to loose a tree like that but you gotta be carefull.
