In this video I show you my set up for speed weaving by using string heddles on a pedal and a pick up stick.

I have a "new and improved" design. See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoRO-Lo7W8E

I no longer weave without my "pedal" and stick.

This saves me from having to push, pull and lift the rigid heddle all the time. I use my foot on a pedal attached to a dowel with string heddles (or to the rigid heddle) to make the first shed and then use a pick up stick for the second shed.

With additional string heddles and pedals, you can, in effect, have a multi-shaft loom for pattern weaving.

  • Oh, you should see what I finally came up with...I wove myself a strap and made a toe loop to use with the heddles which works out better than the string with a stick on it. Stop by my website where I have that posted. :)

  • Amazing how you figured this all out, thanks for sharing.
