This was the first piece I listened to on 78, and from the first it gave me goose-pimples.

I don't necessarilly think a slower tempo would drain the liveliness; as long as you have good energy and interpretation it will be as lively as you want. He did pick a great tempo though I agree with that. Very nicely done.

Excellent! One of my favourite pieces. Thanks for posting.
Energetic, bright, and brilliant. Great tempo, too - it is quite possible to give in and interpret this piece too quickly, which tends to drain the color and intricacy of the work (particularly from the strings and woodwinds), and at the same time, if the piece is performed too slowly, it loses its liveliness. Great balance here.
