The brilliant outer movements is contrasted rather strongly with the strong emotional content of this middle Andante, and Yehudi Menuhin is the perfect violinist for tackling this difficult task!

Nigel Kennedy, protégé of Yehudi Menuhin, wrote: "Four melodic notes from Yehudi are worth more than a thousand from any of our living violinists." He added: "Bach speaks through Menuhin's violin."

The A Minor violin concerto by Bach, BWV 1041, is played and conducted by Sir Yehudi Menuhin, with the participation of the English Chamber Orchestra.

recorded at an all Bach concert at the Barbican in London, given as part of a tri-centennial tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach.
