@ableite ibm used hard disk platters made of ceramic and pixie dust crap... so hence the glass platters it wasnt a very good idea of them to use them because SO many oif them failed. i've had a bunch of DEATHstars fail that same way with the click and scratch of death... dont trust these deskstars the newer hitachis are better though. i had a 1TB hitachi that worked fine for ubuntu.
