Yorgo Bacanos 1900-1977 Sûznak Oyun Havasi

A collection of old recordings of himself, the great ud player Yorgo Bacanos, is released by Kalan Muzik yapim Ltd. Sti. in 1997. I just wanted to share a couple of the songs. For CD quality, please refer to http://www.kalan.com/scripts/album/dispalbum.asp?id=21.

"Yorgo Bacanos (1900-1977) was born in Silivri, a small town near Istanbul, on the 21st September, 1900, and died in Istanbul on the 24th February, 1977. He was from a Greek-Gypsy family... Bacanos was one of the best ud players that the TUrkish musical world had ever seen. His performance was appreciated not only in Turkey but also in the Middle-Eastern countries and Greece... "
