Departure runway was 16R with DEENA4 departure, RIC transition to Richmond VOR, thence the H76 airway to connect to the flightplan which tracked through Narabrai, Hamilton Island, Port Moresby and over the island of Nimiz near Guam, arriving via the VENUS2 South arrival, COSMO transition to runway 34L. Moisture in cloud and a temperature of 7C meant the Gear Down for Icing procedure was in effect. ILS landing was conducted with manual flight portion. Wind was variable at 5 - 8 knots. Flaps were 30, Vref of 143.

Music of Sculthorpe (Australian Composer)

Specifics are, Excerpts of the following:

Earth Cry: Opening

Song of Tailitnama: Opening section (same as Earth Cry)
Music for Japan: Small excerpt from the middle of piece
Mangrove: Ending.

The following is a poem by me.
------------------------------
.:|Findme|:.

To find her somehow, reminded of me
some connection in thought half-realized perhaps.
Or like a lone jet, representing a single soul, searching for meaning
Searching for love. Connection

That she would think, again, of me
this lonley flier, drifting, longing for her touch.
My soul flights, searches for her life, but abandoned
Abandoned by her, I fly alone.

A tiny speck on the massive blue
insignificant and ignored, forgotten.
Yearining in anguish to return to her love,
to touch her mind, to find her love.

But I wander, lost in this vast expanse
alone, empty and lost I fly;
far from her mind, her eye, her love.
I fly, fearing this endless sky
and hope someone, someday, will find me.

  • Great vid mate.

P.S I recentlly joined VATSIM and I'm a little confused about what exactly to input in the route section of the flight plan. For example if I was to fly from YMML-YSSY using the DOSEL7 SID then to WAZZA,CRG,CB, RIVET9 STAR would I input the route as: DOSEL7,WAZZA,CRG,CB,RIVET9?

  • Melbourne - Sydney and return is a bit of a special case as it has 2 uni-direction routes for Jets. They are

DCT ML H129 DOSEL Y59 SY DCT

    and

DCT SY H65 RAZZI Q29 ML DCT

Filed like that. In Australia SID/STARs arn't filed by pilots but enacted by ATC who then ammend the flightplan. Sydney - Melbourne is busy so each route can only be flown in one direction as to avoid headon collisions.

Check vatpac*org /assist/?pg=pilotassist for more routes and the forums for more info about flying plans

  • Of course, you will likley be flying the DOSEL7 and RIVET9 procedures, they just arn't filed. but feel free to plug it into your FMC/GPS whatever you use to navigate with.

These 2 special use routes are only for Jets and are RNAV routes (you need GPS, GNSS, INS or FMS to fly it, not just VOR radials) I find with ATC guarenteed, the ML-SY route easiest, but the RIVET9 arrival is all vectors so if ATC goes off you have to have a good mental picture of where to go to intercept ILS etc on your own.

  • Is like the attention please video whereby the flight number is also 772
