Brooklyn Park City council to talk levy -"Sun Suburbs Today" webcast - Monday, Aug. 31, 2009

The Brooklyn Park City Council will discuss its 2010 preliminary budget and tax levy tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall. City staff will review a summary of the 2010-2011 general fund and their proposed levy's estimated impacts on properties in the city.

Both the Robbinsdale and Crystal city councils will meet tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at their respective city halls.

Golden Valley Police received a call last Friday to an apartment in the complex at 1400 Douglas Drive. Officers found a juvenile male in medical distress, was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, but later pronounced dead. Less than two months after being sworn into office, Senator Al Franken addressed the North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce Aug. 27 at the Crowne Plaza in Brooklyn Center. Franken talked to members about the economy and health care reform and fielded questions from chamber members.
