......and it's not the bongo slipping and sliding about! My two anatolian girls - Anna and Freya. They have a large area which is deer fenced for free exercise. Usually I take them around our fields on leads with the others (total of 11 (3 different breeds) very large dogs) for an organised walk - so to speak - but it's very difficult just now! Also, the kunes are on the loose in the big field......big kiwi gets a bit grumpy!

In the UK the Kennel Club have a variable breed standard for the Anatolian Shepherd dog - in other words all Turkish breeds are under the umbrella of Anatolian Shepherd dogs and that is what they are registered as if we wish to exhibit them. The only club in the UK is the Anatolian (Karabash) club of which I am a member. I have the top winning bitch in the UK, but she is registered as an Anatolian, but promoted by me as a Kangal.

@b19wof I hope the club don't know you promote your dogs as Kangals.They dislike the name.Which is why I left the club.I've been to Turkey twice and it is obvious to me that there are 4 breeds of flock guard dogs there.Which is why I didn't like to exhibit my Kangal.An all encompassing breed standard for 4 distinct breeds of dog makes a nonsense out of dog showing.It is like having the Bearded Collie,Rough Collie,Old English Sheep dog,and Border Collie all in the same ring.
