great all star cast... the story.... but what a load of crap...

What is it with period movies and the heroine always having to wear plain outfits in the same old shade of blue-gray most of the time? Except for a few white outfits, the rest of the color spectrum is sorely underrepresented. What's wrong with lavender? Bronze? Lemon, peach, and so on? And why no prints?
Geez, why do they even bother with a costume designer the way things are going - might as well just reuse the costumes from previous movies. :P
