"Kids that are born in the Poly area believe it's their right to attend Poly High School. It's the school they want to go to and the school their parents want to them to go to."
Not completely true. I was born in the Poly area, but I didn't feel the need to attend it nor did my parents. A lot of these kids don't even live near Poly.

I attended Poly and take great pride in it, as did other kids from the neighborhood. Its an excellent school with some incredible teachers. Its mazing that kids in a neighborhood like that are able to get exposure to that kind of education and opportunities. A lot of people choose not to go to Poly because they feel it is too ethnic or that it is in a less than desirable neighborhood. I learned street smarts there and that has served me very well in my life here and around the the globe.
