Uploaded as an example of my editing, writing, and viral marketing

Recently I was sorting through some of my old VHSs, looking for recordings of the first few minutes of Spice Channel movies, (you know, before the feed would get all scrambled) when I stumbled upon a caché of '80s cartoons I must have taped one Saturday morning as a kid. Immediately, I put my pants back on and began to revisit my childhood (except for the pants part). Lo and behold, there were all my old friends: Garfield and Friends, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, Gobots... Though, truth be told, I wasn't nearly as interested in the cartoons as I was in the commercials that bookended them. Yeah, we've all been to RetroJunk.com, but some of these ads really tore open the floodgates of my memory. Like most of you, I'm a hardcore gamer, but I prefer my games aged twenty years or more. So when I saw two of the all-time rarest commercials for two of my all-time favorite games, I quickly took my pants back off, captured the footage to I.N.T.E.R.N.E.T., and posted 'em here.

Many of you probably don't remember text adventure games, let alone the fact that Valve remade one of Sierra's more obscure interactive fiction titles, Portal, some two decades later as the first-person puzzler everyone knows and loves.

And how many of our readers were owners of the Magnavox Odyssey², let alone Electronic Arts' genre pioneering Left 4 Dead? Valve would also remake this game a quarter of a century later, but not before Electronic Arts had developed a Zapper™ compatible sequel for the NES.

  • I cannot believe how perfect this is!

  • OMG sooooo funny

  • my question for you is.. how do you emulate 80s video and audio with a recording made on a modern camera?? Cause I wanted to make a video similar to this style but dont know how...

  • Great stuff.

  • I watched because it had Ronald in it

  • AWESOME.

  • nice one, guys

  • That fire hydrant thing in the beginning, my god, I remember seeing that so many times when watching my Cowboys of Moo Mesa episodes that were recorded on VHS, this whole thing is amazing.

  • That was pure genius.

  • Takes me back, even if the game never existed. Thanks for that feeling.
