  • Geeze, I almost forgot how bad nostalgia can get, every part people bitching about voices and minor differences in lines. If you're all just sooooooo heart broken (or butthurt, whichever) here's what you do, you can just play the old game on the original PS1, or go and get a PS1 emulator. There, all the "right" voices just as you remembered from your childhood.

  • @Kth77 I mostly prefer the original, but this one's got its own style to it. Hopefully, if the final version of the PSP2 has two analog sticks, then maybe we can get a proper Ape Escape portable game... :)

  • If a good number of games are going to jump on the Retro Remake Bandwagon, they should remake this game as Ape Escape HD while keeping it as close to the PS1 title while enhancing the graphics.

  • @SonicFreak4 I'd sell my soul for an "Ape Escape HD." They might as well remake it. Or at least release Million Monkeys in the US... :P

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cans you tell me what is the name of this emulator and where did you donload the game PLEASE PLEASE

  • I didn't use an emulator. I recorded this directly from my PSP using RemoteJoy Lite and Fraps.

  • My favorite game as a kid. My brother used to own this game as a kid and he spent weeks working on it. Now, the Playstation has been replaced with an XBox and Ape Escape has been replaced with Call Of Duty. This game truly was one of the best games for the Playstation and I am so buying this for my PSP. I don't care how different the voices sound or how odd the Professor looks, I'm buying this,

  • @OmegaWriter1 The last voice is Specter's of course. Dee Bradley Baker is more tolerable than the AE3 voice actor, but not as win as Pete Burrows and the lines he delivered in the original. So it may just be the script that screws up Specter in On the Loose rather than the voice itself.

  • @OmegaWriter1 As for On the Loose, the Professor's voice fits, but I dislike the emphasis and delivery of some of his lines. It just feels awkward. Natalie's voice is a god send from the original, while Spike and Jake are hit and miss. Both fit, but Richard Steven Horvitz is no Spike. Actually, Dan Green fit Spike very well in AE2. Jake's voice is great in the original (despite age suggestion) and the new one, so I'd say both have my approval.

  • With Ape Escape, I've found the old voices to be nostalgic, but I also realize that many didn't fit. Pete Burrows as Specter has only been beaten by Crispin Freeman in Pumped and Primed. Otherwise, the only really good voice that fit was the Professor's. We then have Natalie, who was too high pitched, and Spike and Jake sounded like they were in their late teens when they're supposed to be 10. Casi we didn't hear much of her, but P&P was good for her.

  • Was that an baby ape?

  • Who's the green haired girl?

  • There's an English version of the Saru Getchu P! for PsP?

  • Difference?

    Old Ape Escape

''You won't advanced to the next area'

    New Ape Escape

''You wont be able to advance to the next level''
