Hal's Odyssey: Episode 1 (Halo/Fable machinima)

Spartan 286, Hal Martel

I was called into headquarters this morning. When I arrived, I was informed by General Emir, Spartan 203, that the aid of my team was needed to settle a certain disturbance in Sector 897. I received a short briefing and mission specs and was dismissed. My team and I geared up and set out immediately.

Our journey took us to the outskirts of Sector 897 and we made our way to the location described in our briefing. We arrived in an immense chamber, long since abandoned, and assumed we had found the location we were looking for. It was quite obvious actually; the damn place looked like a makeshift military encampment. There were no signs of enemy activity, and my squads motion trackers showed no indication of movement. So in a routine fashion, we spread out and began out search. It was shortly after this that my squad and I were attacked. My squad held out at firstbut it quickly became apparent that we were sorely outnumbered. One by one my squad mates men and woman who had become family to me began to fall. Yet the rest of us still standing fought on, with grim determination, and unyielding ferocity. Butit was not enough. Soon, only Private Adams and I were still standing. Then just me. And soalone I fled. As much as my training instincts to keep fighting, and my dignity hated me for it, I ran.

It was in these twisting corridors that I foundit. a huge, glowing portal, unlike any I had ever seen. As to whom its creator was, or even how it was created, I have yet to answer. A rocket flew past my head and slammed into the portals exterior, shaking me from my thoughts. I had no options left as far as an escape. I could turn and fight; and most likely die. Orthe portal. I quickly glanced at the portal. It was beginning to shake and crumble, most likely from the rockets impact. No other options in sight...I leapt through the portal.

And then I woke up here
