  • It's a grass.

  • I personally would like to live longer. Not because I'm afraid of death, and I know it is a necessity that helps us appreciate this life, but I want to witness the great innovations of man that are to come, and spend time learning things I otherwise don't have time for because knowledge and innovation fascinate me.

  • @edard101 I agree, I think this is the only thing that I disagree with Dr.Tyson on. We are all born without knowledge. Thats why the young are impulsive, everything is fresh and new. But, I value the fact that I will gain experience and knowledge as I age, and I have become far greater then the may fly. Imagine living for a thousand years, the knowledge, experience, and wisdom you could acquire. Imagine walking on a distant planet in the distant future. He seems shortsighted on this.

  • This reminds me of something Carl Sagan once said, "We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think it's forever."

  • If only all humans valued helping others live better lives, there would be a lot less suffering in this world.

  • "People who live a long time become less productive.." Case in point: Edward Cullen

  • It's not a grass, it's deGrasse!

  • I agree living healthy lives is important, and I see the logic behind his point about living forever, but I think most people are lazy regardless.

  • Living forever is stupid.

  • @Balaganow nevermind the amount of billions that was wasted in the bail out could have sped things up in space exploration.

  • i like Neil's take on life, and longevity. I think as humans we often want what we don't have (eg. the ability to live longer) yet fail to appreciate what we actually have... a number of my older relatives have died of late - my great aunt at 91, my f-i-l at 84, and they were ready. Mind you, it's good to be living in an era and a country where many of us live seven or more decades - as a fifty year old, i still feel i may have a couple of decades ahead of me :) What we have is wonderful IMHO :)

  • This is the first stupid thing I've heard Tyson say.
