NREGA is the largest employment demand scheme in the world, promising to pay every one of India's rural poor, perhaps 350 million people, a sum of a hundred rupees for a day's labour. Our biometric team travelled from village to village, adding identities to job cards using photographs and a fingerprint scanner. The Lateral Praxis team created a centralised software solution that ensures every worker would get paid accurately and on time. We used an always-on-line biometric device with GPS location, along with a localized web-interface. Our experiences are now recorded in this compelling video clip on Youtube.
