Spina Bifida primarily affects the central nervous sytem - the brain and
spinal cord - and those systems that rely on it for coordinated function.
No one map fits the journey for every family traveling the challenging
roads of indivduals with spina bifida. However, with motivation,
education and encouragement, these children are successfully
participating in life - crossing one bridge at a time!

For more information on Spina Bifida or the Succesful Bridges Program, please contact Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children - Pediatric Developmental Disabilities Department at (214) 559-7855 or (800) 421-1121, ext. 7855.
