Prokaryotes and archea are similar in structure, and were derived from earlier types of self-replicating life forms. Eukaryotes came later.
But let's be clear. NO credible scientist will tell you that there was once a single cell or single living organism.
The chemistry beaker that created the first living things was ENORMOUS: Earth-sized, to be exact. So, the life "solution" would have involved massive amounts of materials.
But the more-efficient DNA-based life wiped them out.
Google is your friend that is what I am telling you now. Wikipedia is not always completely accurate but mostly about the basic points they are correct. What you want to know type it in google and there is a big chance that you will find what you need.
If it is hard to keep up with I suggest you watch teh videos again. Or do some concentration training, it works wonders for your concentration and also to keep up with what someone is saying. If you do not understand what someone is saying, then look it up, it is not that hard with the huge amount of information that is available on the internet.
Wow, this video of Aronra's is particularly hard to keep up with!
Perhaps it's not possible to answer this yet, but I'm a bit confused about where life started.
Is it that Bacteria, Euakrya and Archaea all evolved from a common ancestor, meaning (if we go back far enough) there is one single organism that started life?
Or did they each evolve from different ancestors, meaning there were several different organisms at the start of life.
ha thats funny in two ways, one just cos its funny and two as its actually true, if we look at the body of knowledge the bible/god gave us but then again we all know more than god did, even the creationists :) although aronra defiantly knows more than me

Apologies if I've got the wrong idea completely.
