Make a Difference Tutorial - beatmania IIDX 9th Style CS

I made this video a while ago around the arrival of beatmania IIDX 9th Style CS for the PS2. It was a tutorial for one of the "harder" songs that alot of people were reportedly having a difficult time clearing.

I made this video in hopes that anyone with a decent amount of skill could pass it if they used the techniques that I outlined here. Enjoy it!

Holy crap, this game looks so incredibly fucking difficult looking at somebody's fingers. Is it really as hard as it looks?

It can be very daunting to learn the game at first, but with practice and effort, it becomes rather easy to read and comprehend what's going on. The challenge is still there (there many more difficult songs beyond this one), but after a while you'll find yourself being able to at least understand what's going on.

Very nice tutorial. BTW, how come you don't use your right thumb? I suggest you a little to use your left hand and right thumb more often and create more innovative hand techniques like that.

I always wondered one thing about Beatmania, even though people can figure out the pattern and rhythm of the song, how the hell can they still hit the notes.

You would have to be practicing these every day just to memorize the patterns and hitting the notes at the same time, it's hard to synchronize both of those things together.

Heheheh, thanks for the reply :) The day after I posted this comment, I downloaded a beatmania IIDX simulator, some bms files, and started playing the game - I'm doing a pretty OK job right now (not as good as this, though! Best I passed is "LOVE IS ORANGE"'s Hyper), so I suppose you could say this video got me in to the game :D

So thanks, I guess, it's lots of fun. Maybe this video will help me out when I'm at this level in a few weeks (or months?!)
