Search Funnels - Google Adwords Keyword Discovery

Anyone who has studied website behavior will know that sometimes people will come to a website many times before making a purchase.

They may come to your site early in their buying process when they are just researching the different options and prices. That first visit may have a very positive effect that will ultimately lead them to make a purchase on a later search.

That first keyword they used to find you is therefore important even though you didn't make the sale.

Unfortunately Adwords conversion reporting only shows the keyword that got the sale and not any of the keywords prior to the sale.

Now with Search Funnels you can see the various keywords that led up to the "sale" keyword.

Why is this important? Well if you turn off these earlier keywords (which you might since they may have poor conversion rates) then you could be cutting off the final conversions later in the process.

Search Funnels helps you to avoid that problem.
