BEIJING, Nov. 10 -- China said here Monday that no concessions would be made on issues concerning the national sovereignty following talks between central government officials and private envoys of the Dalai Lama. Meanwhile, Chinese government looks to post-Dalai Lama era and Zhu Weiqun, an official United Front Work Department (UFWD) of the Communist Party of China (CPC), called on the Dalai Lama to "do something beneficial " for the Tibetan people before he passes away.

杜青林强调，在维护祖国统一和领土完整这个原则问题上，无论任何时候、在任何情况下，都不可有丝毫动摇和偏离，西藏独立不行，半独立不行，变相独立也不行。达赖喇嘛应该尊­重历史、正视现实、顺应时代，对自己的政治主张进行根本性改正，切实做到不支持策划煽动暴力犯罪活动和一切谋求西藏独立、分裂祖国的主张和活动，切实履行今年７月北京接谈­时作出的承诺，为接触商谈取得进展创造有利条件。 杜青林表示，中央对达赖喇嘛的政策是一贯的、明确的，对话的大门始终是敞开的。今年以来，尽管出现了拉萨打砸抢烧严重暴力犯罪事件，我们仍先后三次安排达赖喇嘛的私人代表­回国接触，充分体现了中央的诚意、宽宏和大度，希望达赖喇嘛作出对国家、对人民、对历史、对自己有益的选择。 中央统战部常务副部长朱维群、副部长斯塔，西藏自治区常务副主席白玛赤林与甲日一行进行了谈话。指出，中央对达赖喇嘛回到爱国立场上来的大门始终是敞开的，今后也是敞开的­；但对西藏独立、半独立、变相独立的大门过去没有开过，今后也不会开。甲日·洛迪、格桑坚赞就有关问题陈述了想法，并表示将把有关情况向达赖喇嘛如实汇报。
