@aanw97 Wow. You were right. I practiced step by step, but i also used heavy weights while doing it, and I know so many steps now, plus I don't get too tired.
I'm trying to learn a few steps from Dancing With the Stars. Thanks for advice!

It's great! Thank you so much!

Ditto to Rinrys comments. Very clear, professional instruction. I will be downloading some stuff so our co-dancing novice friends are amazed at our progress!! Thanks for the freebies.

Thank you for uploading this! You don't know how much this will help me. I just started learning the quickstep in class today and we did these basic steps. Needless to say I don't remember how to do them - this video will help me out!

All these series are well taught.
I have problems remembering steps. Is it a natural thing or just based on hours and hours of practice?

Practice is not everything. Don't try to learn or dance too many steps at once. Just learn one basic pattern dance that until you are comfortable before adding on another step. In another words, walk before you try to run.

The steps follow a 3/4 rhythm (1+2+3+) corresponding to left, right, side close. But quickstep music is in 4/4 time. this has always made it difficult for me because it means that the routine goes out of sync with the tune

Qstep music (4/4 time) counted in beats is 1234,5678, etc. The 1/4 Turn & Progressive Chasse (ie Basic Step) is SSQQSSQQS -L fwd, R fwd, side close side-LRL, then R back, side close side-LRL. The 1st step (L fwd) is a preparation step that musically should be taken on beats 78. Therefore the basic step (excluding the prep step) is S=12 Q=3 Q=4 S=56 S=78 Q=1 Q=2 S=34. This matches the music. Stepping L fwd on 12 is a teaching tool to help students to learn the steps. Andy
