  • @titanramfan ~ I lived in Auburn, WA 'til 1974 & saw that same "strawberry pink ice cream cone Mt. Rainier"! We moved to Whittier, CA May '74 (when I was 14 y/o) & one of my sister's friends had Melanie on an 8-track tape! When I watching these videos of her now I remember every word! Thanks to who ever put them up

  • This song was like a comforting lullaby to me when I was in 3rd grade. In the back of my mind it is still my favorite ever. I also remember sitting on my back porch in Tacoma, WA, watching a Baby Day being born over Mount Rainier to the southeast, the snow as pink and brilliant as a strawberry ice cream cone. Ah, those were the days.

  • Unfortunately I only have two thumbs.. both are up.. !

  • This song inspired me to begin an annual tradition of taking my daughter to the shores of Lake Michigan to watch a sunrise. I hope it will continue despite the fact that she is 21 and living on her own these days. Thank you for the song Melanie.

  • @hollehunny1 Awesome!!! How fortunate you were.

  • @hollehunny1 Awesome!!!

  • She has touched the WORLD. Love you Melanie x

  • She still is and will always be the high priestess to mankind.Melanie the great!

  • I had a tradition with my now 21 year old daughter that was inspired by this song. Once a year, we would wake up real early (well, I'd wake up and she would sleep walk to the car) and we would take a 35 mile drive to watch the sunrise over Lake Michigan in Milwaukee. I would take an apple and a recording of this song and play it as the sun would over top the horizon. I hope she remembers those trips forever. I certainly will. Thank you for posting and to Melanie for writing and singing it.
