In this video we use a ramé-hart Model 250 (or 500) Goniometer to first measure the contact angle of water and then diodomethane on a sample of treated polyethylene. Using the contact angle angle along with the density and surface tension values of the liquids (which is already in the phase editor) we are then able to calculate the surface energy using the Two Liquid Surface Energy tool which is included with DROPimage Standard and DROPimage Advanced.
Hi there. Could you please kindly tell me how to measure contact angle on the porous structure? Can we use the 2 different types of liquid? FYI, what I've read from the journal, for the non-ideal surfaces, you need to use the Wenzel's model in which correlate with the roughness factor (r). Moreover, can I just measure the water contact angle of my porous scaffolds (made from PHB) and then modulate based on the Wenzel's equation to get the surface energy of PHB?

@saifulanis80 You can read about Wenzel's equation on Wikipedia (look up wetting). I guess it's possible to do that, if you know the roughness ratio, r. But I never tried to do it, because r is difficult to get at. I don't know if 2 liquids help, either, I cannot see a logical way to utilize that.
