Elk Hunters Paradise

Located 40 miles west of Laramie and five miles south of Arlington is one of the finest elk hunting properties in southern Wyoming! Comprised of 646 deeded acres +/- of excellent elk habitat, this property features a variety of terrain that make hunting this property ideal for the rifle hunter or the archer. Running along the northwest boundary is a small tributary of Onemile Creek. Nestled along the creek at the entrance into the property is an old cabin that could be used as a hunting cabin. There is a long ridge running diagonally through the property from the southwest corner to the northeast corner. It rises at some points over 600 feet above lower portions of the property. The ridge enjoys large open faces on the southeast side and a clear cut on northwest side. Working its way up the ridge are thick stands of timber for the elk to retreat to during the hot summer months. Unlike a vast majority of the timber in the area that has died because of the pine beetle, a majority of the timber on the property is young and healthy. At the base of the ridge there are aspen groves with lush grassy bottoms. There are even a couple wallows for the bulls to roll around in as they enter into the rut. While the terrain and habitat are excellent for elk and other wildlife, the best feature of the property might be its location. Only five miles off of Interstate 80 the property can easily be accessed from Laramie or any other town along I-80. Laramie, home to the University of Wyoming, features a small regional airport and is only about an hour drive from the property. Denver, with a large international airport, is about 3.5 hours away. The property is surrounded almost completely by National Forest and BLM lands. Only a quarter mile stretch of the property along the southeast side is bordered by private land. This gives the property owner access to thousands of acres to recreate on as well! If you are an avid elk hunter this property is a must have!
