With the storms all up North now and storm season basically over for the panhandle, the family turns to our other love - our SeaDoo LRV. That's right, the largest PWC ever built. 4 seats, 125 hp, 25 gallons of gas and +50mph. She was very forgiving to us for not getting her on the lake last Summer by performing at near peak performance. With last Summers transgressions forgiven, she is very excited about the many lake trips this Summer!
Well, for only having 130 horsepower, the four seater moves. I raced one with my 2002 155 horsepower gtx 4-tec, and the LRV put up a good fight off the line, but i still accelerated faster. I kicked its ass top end too. What year is your ski?

It's a 2001. I would love to have a new 4 stroke engine in it, but with SeaDoo not making them anymore - that's not going to happen.

Seadoo still makes the four stroke engine. The new gtx 155 has the same exact engine as the 2002 gtx 4-tec. The 1494 cc three cylinder. Its a rock solid motor too.

I wished they still made the LRV's. I guess the market just wasn't right for them, but it's a great machine.

Oh, yeah. My bad, I thought you meant the engine. Yeah, i thought the lrv's were cool too. One thing about them, is they still have the older style hull, so you can spin them a little easier. In 2002, they switched to a new hull design, and theyre heavier, and a little tricky to spin. The more riders you have though, the easier it is.

Yep, we've thrown many people off of ours. The only time I've almost flipped our LRV was with 4 full sized adults all holding on firm to the guy in front of them. When the back guy gets thrown, he pulls the guy in front of him and eventually it gets to me holding on to the handle bars. At the point of the LRV getting at a 90 deg angle I decide I don't want to try to unflip it so I let go. It's tricky to spin by yourself but can be done. My son is an expert at it.
