Really hard to believe that somebody would take exception to how the guitar is, or is not, being played. I'm surprised that somebody hasn't mentioned that Johnny isn't playing the bass, drums or lead guitar either - but they're obviously there too. Just be happy that kids are/were being exposed to all this "real" music.

I know at 1:42 he plays with no hands, but I think it's the recording of the guitar with the background only and Johnny singing live so he doesn't have to really play his guitar.
