Good information here, but it's deceptively simplistic. It fails to acknowledge the sheer volume of information it's leaving out, giving (I think) a false impression about how much work it takes.

Aside from that, it also NEEDS the three absolute rules of writing: you need to read a lot; you need to write a lot; take every other rule as a suggestion, not a law.

Still, thumb-up for the good tips for greenhorns.

Writing Fiction. (Title of book). Based on a course presented in NYC, the Gotham Writers' Workshop.

It held my hand all the way through writing my book which is now almost finished. Three earlier attempts with different stories stopped dead in their early tracks because I always had the feeling I didn't have the foggiest what I was doing. What was expected of me.

'Writing fiction' tells all in a fantastic way. Many, many exercises. And you can reread it or parts of it again and again...

This is really handy. It may not be for everyone, everyone has their own methods of writing, just like everyone has their own methods of learning, but in regarding script writing and acting, we used a lot of these techniques in class, and I've carried them over to my writing. Writing in scenes is a really great way to break writer's block.

After having purchased the Novel Writing Made Easy system, which has been outlined here in a 6 minute power-point presentation, I can assure those of you who are questioning the methods and/or the credentials of Andrea Rains Waggener, that this system works. My writing has improved tenfold simply by listening to the audios and doing the daily writing practices defined in the system. Truly, this is just the introduction. The task is not simple, but it helps to have a paint-by-numbers guide :)
