It wasn't Ian Stuart Donaldson who originally did the song.
It was Fred Ebb who wrote the lyrics to Cabaret, and he was Jewish. And gay.
Not usually a popular combination for extreme right wing groups, but hey-ho!
I suppose the irony is lost on people with brain cells missing.
If there's a moral here then it's beware of Nazis, even when they are singing gay Jewish tunes.

Some are aware the song was written in 1972 for Caberet. By two Jew composers, Kander & Ebb, intended to be a satyrical parody of 1930s Nazi songs to ridicule Nazis. However, Ian Stuart adopted the song and released . This effectively neutralised the satyrical parody of the original so successfully that many now think the song is indeed Nazi sentiments and originates from the Nazi era. Hubris of the original Jewish composers appears to have backfired badly and provided us a nationalist anthem.
